MUMBAI: At last, Akshay Kumar responded to reports that he doesn't give films enough time. There were multiple reports, for those who were unaware, that Akshay was not dedicating enough attention to his films.
Additionally, a source said that Akshay had not given Samrat Prithviraj enough attention or time. Akshay appears to have responded to these claims recently.
The actor wished to not take names and claimed that at one time, he was complimented on how rapidly he wrapped projects. However now that his films weren't doing well at the box office, many have criticised his behaviour.
Speaking about the speculations in a recent interview, Akshay brought up Tom Cruise's name and mentioned that the Hollywood star had only spent 55 days filming Mission Impossible.
He continued by saying that he also gives the movie the time it needs and doesn't push the directors finish their films on a certain day. He clarified that he had committed to spending that much time on the project because other of his films had involved up to 75 shoot days.
“Only 55 Days. The rest of the filming continues, with duplicates and all. The biggest action film in the industry, Mission Impossible, and Tom Cruise shot only for 55 days. Every day, they shoot a scene of 1 and a half to two mins so you can calculate,” Akshay told the popular news portal.
“There are a few films that have 75 days shoot schedule, there are others that are 30 days shoot schedule, how much ever time the director asks, I will give. People have (presented a wrong perception) to people. I don’t want to get into the detail of it on who started it. Because it starts from somebody who doesn’t like you, that let’s find out one or two things. So it starts that way,” he said.
“Earlier, people would say ‘start a film with him and it wraps quickly.’ This was when 17 to 18 films of mine were working. He comes on time, goes on time, movie wraps, it releases — it sees the day of release in 8 to 9 months. Now that movies are not working, they narrative is he doesn’t give films time. They change it,” Akshay explained.
He added that he is not clarifying rumors. “People want to see content, people want to see your effort, people want to see what you (have made), they are not interested in how much time you are spending. Ye toh inhone likh likh ke… Not that I am giving a clarification, people can write what they want. But this is not what I think. I would like to tell my audience that don’t think like that and don’t believe what people say,” he said.
Akshay recently released Sarfira. The film is a remake of the Tamil film Soorarai Pottru. This year, he has released two films.
