MUMBAI: Akshay Kumar's third release of 2024 Khel Khel Mein is almost ready for release. This romantic comedy-drama is directed by Mudassar Aziz, and stars Taapsee Pannu, Fardeen Khan, Vaani Kapoor, Aditya Seal, Pragya Jaiswal, and Ammy Virk among its star-studded cast. Although Sarfira received favorable reviews, neither of Akshay's other two films, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan and Sarfira, did well at the box office when they were released earlier this year.
Akshay Kumar has gained notoriety for taking on roles in films that tackle social issues; they have included topics from the value of bathrooms to sanitary pads and sex education. He decided to educate the audience on important topics in the realm of entertainment news.
Although reviews for these films have been mainly positive, Akshay recently disclosed that doubts about his decisions were expressed even by some in the industry.
In a recent interview with the popular news portal, Akshay shared that when he first started doing these films, many people, including his friends and critics, questioned why he would make movies about such topics. The Phir Hera Pheri star explained that some subjects are really good, and he enjoys making films that raise awareness. Akshay was asked why he was doing movies on sanitary pads (Padman) and toilets (Toilet: Ek Prem Katha). The actor stated how he was told doing a movie on sex was bad when he decided to do OMG 2, which is based on sex education.
Next, Rohit Shetty's Singham Again, starring Akshay Kumar, is scheduled to release. The performer is returning to the character of Sooryavanshi in these intense police action thriller. The film stars Ajay Devgn, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, Tiger Shroff, and Arjun Kapoor, and is set for release in theatres on November 1, 2024.
Akshay will appear in the Telugu movie Kannappa and will be back with Arshad Warsi in Jolly LLB 3 in the adored role apart from Singham Again. Fans can anticipate seeing Akshay in a more comedian role when he rejoins the Welcome franchise with Welcome to the Jungle next year. In addition, Akshay will rejoin Suniel Shetty and Paresh Rawal for the eagerly awaited Hera Pheri 3, the third installment in the popular series.
