Like every seasoned actress, Ameesha Patel is trying to get out of her image of a bubbly and sweet image and play varied roles. Like in the 2002-made Humraaz, the actress turned to playing strong characters by enacting Priya Singhania.

Now, turning one more leaf in her career, Ameesha is now gearing up to essay a negative girl in her upcoming film. She is all set to star alongside Neil Nitin Mukesh in Susi Ganeshan's Shortcut Romeo, a Hindi remake of his own 2006 Tamil hit Thiruttu Payale. In fact, she will be seen playing a dark negative character and a fast girl in the film. It's her first as a villain.
As per reports, the beautiful damsel plays the wife of Mumbai's richest man, who's caught on camera having an extramarital affair by a tapori played by Neil Nitin Mukesh.
The twist in the tale is provided by the cat-and-mouse game between the temptress and the tapori.
The actress is very excited with the way the film in mention has shaped up and is hoping audiences appreciate her performance as always.
The film will premiere at the 66th Cannes Film Festival, that goes underway on 15 May (2013).
