Amitabh Bachchan once revealed what he has decided about his property; Said, ‘When I die, Whatever…’
MUMBAI: Amitabh Bachchan previously disclosed the distribution of his estate upon his passing. The actor discussed how he raised his kids equally when it came to his will in a 2011 interview. He disclosed that he would give his children, Abhishek Bachchan and Shweta Bachchan Nanda, an equal share of his estate.
Big B said in an interview, “I had decided on one thing: that I would not differentiate between them,” He added, “When I die, whatever little I have will be equally divided between my daughter and my son—there is no differentiation. Jaya and I decided on that a long time ago. Everyone says that a girl is ‘paraya dhan,’ that she goes to her husband’s house, but in my eyes, she is our daughter, and she has the same rights as Abhishek.”
Incidentally last year, Amitabh Bachchan gifted his bungalow ‘Jalsa’ which is priced at Rs 50 crores to his daughter Shweta Bachchan.
Speaking of his son Abhishek, Big B said, “I had decided long before Abhishek was born that if I had a son, he would be my friend rather than just my son. And the day he started wearing my shoes, he became my friend. So now, I treat him as a friend. I very rarely look upon him as a son. I am concerned about him as a father, I look after him as a father, and I advise him as a father, but when we talk, we talk as friend.”
Amitabh Bachchan and his family made headlines lately when they were listed by Hurun India Rich List 2024 as the fourth-richest Bollywood company. The superstar's family was said to have a net worth of Rs 1,600 crore. Amitabh has not yet responded to the rating, but it is not shocking that his family is one of the top five wealthiest families in Bollywood. Over the previous two years, the actor and his family have also made headlines due to their acquisition of other properties.
