It is well-known that Jayantilal Gada is making an animated film on Mahabharat under his banner of Pen India Ltd.
It’s also known that Gada has roped in a star-studded cast to do the voiceover of the animated characters. They are Amitabh Bachchan (Bheeshma Pitamah), Vidya Balan (Draupadi), Sunny Deol (Bheem) and Ajay Devgn (Arjun).
The latest is that the producer has additional roped in Anil Kapoor and Manoj Bajpai to lend their voices in the film. While Kapoor has done voiceover for Karna, Manoj has dubbed for Yudhishtir's character in the animated retelling of the Indian epic.
Said Gada in a statement, “Both Anil and Manoj have shown full commitment to the film. It was very gracious on their part to agree to impart voices to two very important characters in my film." Interestingly while Kapoor took as many as 15 days to complete his work, Manoj finished his task in four days.
The producer is now on a frantic search of an artiste who would do voiceover for the epic's villain Duryodhan.
Another interesting part about the film is that Gada had an unique idea up his sleeves of having the faces of the artistes on the characters they were giving the voice of. And fearing legal hassles if some actors objected to the idea of their faces being associated with the characters of the epic drama, the producer insured his film for Rs 50 lakh.
But to Gada’s amazement, not only did the actors agree to the wants of the producer, they also dubbed their dialogues so that the voices could match the faces.
