MUMBAI: 'Biwi No.1' is a cult classic comic caper starring Salman Khan, Sushmita Sen, and Karisma Kapoor in the lead roles. After over two decades, the film is all set to have a re-release in the theatres on November 29, 2024. Despite being released initially in 1999, 'Biwi No.1' continues to remain one of the most revisited films because of its intriguing narrative, songs, and most importantly, the stellar star cast. However, did you know that Salman Khan had replaced Govinda, who had a disagreement with Sushmita Sen? Khan even had no qualms about starring alongside Sen despite her towering height.

While shooting for the chartbuster song 'Chunari Chunari', director David Dhawan had refused Sushmita Sen to wear heels, however, Salman Khan insisted her to wear them. Moreover, Salman Khan denied putting lifts in his shoes while sharing the frame with Sushmita Sen. In fact, he even insisted the actress to not remove her heels if she felt comfortable wearing them. Salman Khan's idea behind his decision was that the performance decides the height of an actor. While Sushmita Sen grabbed the Best Supporting Actress Award at the Filmfare, Salman Khan received widespread acclaim, and nominations for Best Actor In A Comic Role at Filmfare and allied ceremonies.

'Biwi No.1' emerged as the first film to star Salman Khan, Saif Ali Khan and Anil Kapoor together. It also turned out to be the biggest blockbuster of the year. Known for its stellar portrayals, iconic songs, and exciting storyline, the Vashu Bhagnani-produced film remains a fan-favorite even today.
