Anurag Kashyap reveals how two actors who began their careers with him ghosted him; says, ‘They didn’t care…’

MUMBAI: Famous for cult classics like Gulaal, Black Friday, Dev D, and Gangs of Wasseypur, among others, filmmaker Anurag Kashyap recently disclosed that two actors who began their careers with him recently ghosted him while he was trying to assemble a cast for a movie he was assembling. Actor Kashyap most recently acted in the movie Maharaja and is currently preparing for the premiere of his next television series, Bad Cop.

Anurag Kashyap was asked about his fruitful partnerships with young actors who have gone on to accomplish great things in their lives after being given a platform by him in a recent interview with Fever FM. However, Anurag acknowledged that some of them also hold him hostage.

Kashyap said, “I like the quality in some people who say no because of whatever reason, I respect them a lot. But people who make you go around for two-three years and then say no, or just start ghosting you, that I have a problem with.”

Adding, “It still happens. There are two actors who started their careers with me and then ghosted me on the film that I am doing. They didn’t care to say a yes or no, they just ghosted.”

Anurag, who has acted in films such as Akira and AK vs AK, is set to appear in Aditya Datt's Disney+ Hotstar series Bad Cop. He also appeared in the Maharaja film, starring Vijay Sethupathi. Throughout his career, Anurag has collaborated with numerous performers, including Richa Chadha, Vicky Kaushal, Manoj Bajpayee, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Kay Kay Menon, and Huma Qureshi.
