MUMBAI : Salman Khan is one of Bollywood's most eligible bachelors. For nearly 40 years in the industry, the actor has had several romantic relationships with well-known female actresses. A Reddit user recently posted images from an old magazine where Salman Khan's brother Arbaaz Khan discussed the actor's first real love, Shaheen Jaffrey, in detail. Arbaaz revealed that when they grew older, they became confidantes to each other, and that's when Salman met Shaheen in college. The actor has previously known a lot of girls, but nobody had the same captivating quality as Shaheen, according to Arbaaz.
Arbaaz Khan stated, “As we grew up, we developed close rapport and shared our secrets. Being a very outgoing person, he was friendly with girls even before he could finish school. In college, he met Anuradha Patel’s sister Shaheen, who was to become Salman’s steady girlfriend for the next three years. Salman was truly in love with Shaheen. He had known many girls, but none had the mesmerising effect on him as she had.”
The well-known Bollywood actress Kiara Advani, who is Shaheen's niece, previously disclosed that Salman and her aunt's meeting was facilitated by her mother, Genevieve Advani. Salman and Shaheen's relationship was their first, according to Kiara during a discussion on Voot's Feet Up with the Stars Season 2.
Kiara further added, “She introduced my mausi Shaheen to him and Salman sir and Shaheen mausi dated each other long back. It may have possibly been their first relationship.”
Furthermore, Shaheen's stepmother Bharati Jaffrey disclosed in a previous interview that they would treat Salman like a member of the family and even ask him to buy food. Salman's family also believed Shaheen to be a member of their own. Everyone thought the two would eventually get married. Regretfully, that was not how things worked out.
Salman and Shaheen's relationship began to collapse after their initial honeymoon period, according to Arbaaz in the magazine interview that was posted on Reddit. This took place before the Bollywood star entered the Hindi film industry. Around 1988, Salman and Sangeeta Bijlani came into contact. The two first connected at a few parties while they were trying their hand at modeling back then.
Arbaaz said that Sangeeta had just broken off from a long relationship. Her frequent meetings with his brother made them really close, and they fell in love. Meanwhile, Shaheen’s gut instincts told her that something was up with Salman, and soon, the actor confirmed her doubts. She was left heartbroken but remained resilient and was even ready to forgive and forget everything as long as Salman gave up on Sangeeta. But he just could not give up on the latter. Hence, to take a break from all this Shaheen headed to London for some time, but when she came back, everything was over between Salman and her.
During the same interview, Arbaaz additionally talked about how Sangeeta gave Salman the much-needed stability he required and how she was the driving force behind Salman's transition from a hot-tempered guy to a sensitive and understanding one. Salman and Sangeeta were to get married in 1994, after years of romance. Unfortunately, Somy Ali had become Salman's friend, they had to call off their wedding.
