B.A. Pass nominated in four categories at the 13th New York Indian Film Festival

Remember Shilpa Shukla-the Chak De girl. Her upcoming film, B.A.Pass, an erotic human drama, has been nominated at the 13th New York Indian Film Festival. Besides the film, Hansal Mehta's Shahid will also be screened at the festival that aims at celebrating independent, art house and alternate films from the Indian subcontinent. Comments debutant director-cinematographer-producer Ajay Bahl, "Our film has been nominated in not just one but four categories-best director, best film, best actor and best screenplay at the New York Festival. It is indeed a great moment for us. B.A. Pass, which is an adaptation of Mohan Sikka's short story The Railway Aunty, has won awards and accolades at various prestigious National and International film festivals. It won the best film and the best actor award at OSIAN film festival 2012 and the audience' choice award at South Asian Alternative film festival, Paris this year. It is also an official entry to Montreal World film festival 2012, New Jersey Independent South Asian film fest 2012, St. Petersburg International Festival, Russia, 2012, Jeonju International film Festival, South Korea, 2013, Imagine India Film Festival , Madrid, Spain 2013. The film, starring Shilpa Shukla, Rajesh Sharma (of Ishqiya, No One Killed Jessica, Dirty Picture fame), Dibyendu Bhattacharya (of Black Friday and Dev D fame), is releasing on 12 July (2013).
