The inspirational story of a female actor who began her career as an air hostess will be talked about in this article. Vidya Malavade later starred in one of Shah Rukh Khan's megahit movies. Her role in the SRK film Chak De! India made her well-known.
Vidya Malavade was born on 2 March 1973 in Maharashtra. She is the niece of veteran actress Smita Patil. She began her career as an air hostess. After this, she delved into the world of modeling and was chosen by ad filmmaker Prahlad Kakkar for some advertisements.
She made her acting debut with Vikram Bhatt's Inteha (2003); however, it tanked at the box office. Malavade got her breakthrough role in Chak De India in 2007. She played goalie and captain of the Indian women's national hockey team, and Shah Rukh Khan played the coach. Vidya also played a key role in the film Kidnap, which featured Sanjay Dutt and Imran Khan.
The actress did several famous web series. The list includes Mismatched, Mismatched 2, Dr. Arora, Inside Edge 2, Flesh, Who's Your Dady, and others.
A few know that Vidya's first husband died in a plane crash when the actress was only 27 years old. During her time as an air hostess, she met Captain Arvind Singh Bagga, a pilot with Alliance Air. They got married in 1997.
The actress recalled the tragic event and revealed that she was in Germany when she heard of her husband's death in a previous interview with Siddharth Kannan. She had difficult periods, but she used yoga and meditation to maintain control over her life.
Malavade quit her work as an air hostess to pursue a career in modeling for motion pictures. Afterward, in 2009, she wed Sanjay Dayma, who directed the movie Ramji Londonwaley.
