Bhushan Kumar in a 5-film deal with Umesh Shukla; also signs Abhinav Kashyap for a project

After the super success of Aashiqui 2, Bhushan Kumar announced a huge slate of T-Series home production films that would release next year. The T-Series head honcho is now looking to push the envelope with a star-studded slate of films having roped in OMG Oh My God! fame director Umesh Shukla for an exclusive 5-film deal. Kumar, who had earlier signed Shukla for four films, was so impressed with his scripts and style of filmmaking that he has now roped him for an exclusive five-film deal. The first film that will go on floor in October is a family drama starring Rishi Kapoor and Abhishek Bachchan as father and son. Currently, the producer is in talks with several big names, is expected to zero in on an actress to star alongside Abhishek soon. Confirming the news, Kumar said, "Yes we have extended and now signed an exclusive 5-film deal with director Umesh Shukla, the first being an Abhishek Bachchan starrer. He is extremely versatile in his style of filmmaking and as a producer I have full faith in his ability to helm the film. We are very excited to have him on board." Averred Shukla, "After all the discussions I had, I am happy to state that I have signed the dotted line am really happy to be now a part of T-Series family. I went to him with different story ideas and we decided on five story ideas of which the Abhishek starrer would be the first to go on the floors." Meanwhile, Kumar has also signed Abhinav Kashyap (Dabangg and Besharam) to helm a project for his production house. Confirming the news, Kumar said, “Yes Abhinav Kashyap will be directing a mass entertainer for T-Series. Though we will soon make an announcement on the star cast, what we can reveal at this point of time is that the film has an energetic, high-tempo album that is sure to resonate with audiences.” Expected to go on floors in the first half of next year, the film will be a mass entertainer.
