MUMBAI: Boney Kapoor is sometimes a little too candid when he gives interviews and in a recent chat, the producer said that his family members, mainly his children, Arjun Kapoor, Anshula Kapoor, Janhvi Kapoor and Khushi Kapoor, sometimes get very upset with him. In fact, he shared that it sometimes gets quite overwhelming in the Kapoor household as his kids get upset with him for speaking to the media about things that should perhaps not be said.

Boney, in a chat with ABP Live, was asked if he has ever misspoken in front of the press about his family members and if there had been any consequences within the family after an incident like this. Boney admitted, “It has happened a lot of times. Whenever I sit down for an interview, I tell them that you just ask about me and not about family. Because sometimes, I get carried away and I say a lot of things. And they (my kids) say why do you have to speak so much?”

Boney said that his children believe that the audience should discover certain things about them as actors and Boney shouldn’t share such things in interviews. “That’s when I say I am sorry, I made a mistake,” he said. When asked if this had happened recently, Boney said that since he has not given any interviews in the last month, the situation hasn’t occurred.

He shared that at one point, the situation was such that his kids got upset with him and it ended with all of them crying. “They have scolded me, gotten upset with me. After getting upset, kids cried, I cried, I apologised, they said dad don’t say sorry. It has reached that height,” he shared.

During the recent promotions of Maidaan, Boney had spoken about his tiff with brother Anil Kapoor over the making of No Entry 2. He said that his brother was upset with him about not casting him in the sequel but when asked about the comment later, Boney said that it was blown out of proportion.

In the same chat with ABP Live, when Boney was asked about being known by his family members’ names. He said, “I have always reveled in this backhanded glory. I was first known as Anil Kapoor’s brother, then I was known as Sridevi’s husband. Now I am known as Arjun, Anshula, Janhvi, Khushi’s father and Sanjay’s brother. I revel in this. I enjoy this.”
