Hollywood Updates
The weekend is here and we bring all the latest happenings from the world of Hollywood.

Lotz wants more of 'girlmances' in 'Legends of Tomorrow'

Actress Caity Lotz says there are a lot of great 'bromances' on Legends of Tomorrow so she wants to see more of "girlmances".

"Now that we have so many girls on our cast, I'd like to have more missions where it's all ladies. I think there are a lot of great bromances on our show, so we need some more girl...wait, what should you call it? Girlmances? Is there a word for it? If a 'bromance' was to happen with girls, what would it be called?

"Anyway, I'd like to see more of that. I would like for some of the female relationships deepen a little for sure," Lotz, who plays Sara Lance in the DC drama, said in a statement to a leading publication

She also praised actress Jes Macallan, who is seen as Ava Sharpe on the show.

"Jes is an amazing actress and we have so much fun working together. The chemistry is there in real life, so it comes out on screen. It's fun because Ava brings out another side of Sara.

"For once, it's not like she's got everything and she knows what she's doing. She's in this new territory where it's like, 'Wait... What do I do? How do I live in a normal life and have an actual relationship?' It is awesome to be able to bring that out of her," said Lotz.

Legends for Tomorrow, which also stars actress Maisie Richardson-Sellers, is aired on Colors Infinity in India.

'Hunter Killer' will revive submarine thrillers: Gerard Butler

Actor Gerard Butler says submarine thriller Hunter Killer tells a classic story, but it is very relevant.

"When I first read this script a few years ago, I loved it immediately. It's a classic story with a heck of a lot of great action, a heck of an intricate plot and a whole cast of fantastic characters who are heroes from different walks of life," Butler said in a statement to a leading publication.

"It felt like an exciting way to revive the submarine thriller for these times. And right now, this story couldn't feel more relevant," he added.

The film is adapted from Don Keith and George Wallace's 2012 novel "Firing Point". Butler plays a submarine captain on a mission to rescue the Russian president and avoid World War 3 by firing torpedoes at everything in sight.

Directed by Donovan Marsh, it also stars Gary Oldman and Linda Cardellini.

PVR Pictures and MVP Entertainment are bringing the film to India. It will release on 26 October.

How Cooper changed Lady Gaga's life

Singer-actress Lady Gaga has learnt a lot while working with actor-director Bradley Cooper, and says it has changed her life.

Gaga worked with Cooper in A Star Is Born, which is based on the eponymous 1937 film.

"We were doing some preparations together before we started filming and we were doing some acting workshops and just becoming closer as friends," Gaga said in a statement to a leading publication.

"I enjoyed the process (of getting into the role) because no one recognised me when I went out looking this way (new hair colour for the role) and it kind of put me in that space of where Ally (Gaga's character) would be and the trust.

"Bradley used to say all you got to do is 'trust me' and he says it in the film to Ally and he said it to me in real life and we captured that in film which allowed me to feel safe, to open up and be vulnerable to put my pain, my despair, my insecurities on film," she added.

The actress says it was "remarkable working with Bradley".

"He is such an open and kind person. It was a beautiful experience because I feel absolutely privileged and humble to sit beside him. I have always admired him but he has taught me so much and it's changed my life," she added.

A Star Is Born centres on a fading movie star who helps an aspiring actress while his own career spirals downward. Cooper has directed and produced the film as well.

The Warner Bros Pictures project released in India on 12 October.

During the fashion launch, Danny, 41, said, "She is an incredible human being... and I'm very f***ing proud of her. I'm slightly choked up at this point, thank you all so much."

According to dailymail.co.uk, Danny claimed that Dani was conceived in "just two minutes".

"Who loves Dani Dyer? It's incredible to think that me and my wife we made her and the thing is it only took two minutes."

He then quickly added, "Nah, quarter of an hour."

A number of celebrities including Georgia Steel, Samira Mighty, Hayley Hughes, Alex George, Zara McDermott and Niall Aslam, as well as Dani's boyfriend Jack Fincham attended the launch event.

Jodie Whittaker surprised by Backstreet Boys

Actress Jodie Whitaker got a surprise from American pop vocal group Backstreet Boys while she was in the midst of a radio interview.

During the BBC interview, Whittaker spoke about her love for the 1990s boy band, who she didn't know were also present in the studio, reports suggest so.

The band performed "I'll Be The One" song for the Doctor Who star on air.

While the boys were singing, Whittaker became nostalgic and said, "BSB were the ‘soundtrack of my youth', So my GCSEs, which is kind of our exams, that was the soundtrack for mine and my best friend's youth. It still gets rocked out every time we're together."

Whittaker's first episode of Doctor Who aired last Sunday and became the biggest season opener for the show in a decade with 8.2 million tuning in.

Sterling K. Brown to develop content for 20th Century Fox

Actor Sterling K. Brown will develop projects for 20th Century Fox TV.

The Emmy Award-winning star has signed a production deal at 20th Century Fox TV, the studio behind his hit series This Is Us, reports suggest so.

Under the deal, Brown will develop projects for 20th, which is on the verge of being absorbed into the Disney Empire.

Brown is the third star of This Is Us team to set up a production deal at the studio, joining Mandy Moore and Milo Ventimiglia.

Brown won an Emmy in 2017 for playing Randall Pearson on This Is Us, which airs in India on Star World. The show, in its third season, is currently the top-rated drama on network TV.

At 38, Chrissy Metz debuts swimsuit

Actress Chrissy Metz says she wore a swimsuit for the very first time at the age of 38 after decades of hiding her body.

Metz had made a promise to herself that she would wear a swimsuit if she found one she liked.

The 38-year-old actress kept true to that promise recently when she visited Barbados with a friend. She posted multiple photographs of herself wearing what appears to be a black one-piece bathing suit while lounging in the pool.

In an interview to Glamour magazine, Metz explained why it was a big deal for her, reports suggest so.

"I grew up wearing a T-shirt at the pool. As an adult, I was like, I'm going to find a bathing suit I like and I'm going to wear it. And there were people, like, 'Oh my God, look at you! You know I could never do that'," she said.

Metz recognised this to be more of a backhanded compliment, she decided to not let it deter her from wearing what she wanted to wear.

"I'm doing what I want to do."

Metz is known for role of Kate Pearson in This Is Us, aired in India on Star World.

I didn't choose right person in Ryan Adams: Mandy Moore

Actress-singer Mandy Moore says getting married to Ryan Adams was not a smart decision.

In an interview to Glamour, Moore opened up about her first marriage to musician Adams, reports suggest so.

Her first marriage spanned from March 2009 until their January 2015 separation, with the divorce finalising in June 2016.

"I didn't choose the right person," Moore said.

"I don't feel guilty for (the divorce). I don't fault myself for it. When people said, ‘I'm sorry,' I was like, ‘No. Sorry would have been had I stayed in a very unhealthy situation'. I didn't. I found my way out. And when I did, things opened back up again."

Moore -- who plays Rebecca Pearson in the critically-acclaimed This is Us, aired in India on Star World, said she felt "spiritually and fundamentally stuck" while in the marriage, which had a negative impact on her work and social life.

Adams took to Twitter to respond to his former wife's remarks, saying, "She didn't like the Melvins or BladeRunner. Doomed from the start… If only I could remember the start lol."

Now, Moore is engaged to Dawes frontman Taylor Goldsmith and will get married to him later this year.
