MUMBAI: Actress Hansa Singh, who has been a part of projects like Hunterrr, Page 3, Criminal Justice, Goodbye, Money Hai Toh Honey Hai, Flip, and Tom Dick and Harry, is excited to celebrate the festival of lights, Diwali.
She said, "Diwali is the harbinger of all positivity, bonhomie, and our rituals. And celebrating the new beginnings. Being in Bombay has changed my way of family get-togethers, which I miss. All those rituals—buying new clothes, celebrating together with Mom, Dad, brother, sister, nieces, sister-in-law, the scrumptious food, and of course, fun burning crackers and lighting candles, etc."
"As years have passed by, now Diwali is more with the social circle. So now at home I do my rituals. I decorate the house with lights and diyas, flowers, and torans, etc. Then I do a puja, and after the Laxmi puja, I talk to my family, then step out to regale with my social circle and go to parties," she added.
She agrees that Diwali symbolizes light overcoming darkness but shared that she is still waiting for that light to light up in her life. She added, "Though I have huge gratitude for all the mercies and blessings the universe has granted me."
The year 2025 gave her many firsts—first Coldplay concert, Mahakumbh, Amarnath yatra, wingsuit skydiving, and solo travels to Kashmir. She said, "This year has been exceptional for me with so many firsts, and I am just praying for it to not end and carry forward to 2026 in the same momentum."
A fond childhood memory? "Burning crackers with cousins late at night and getting scolded by elders. We cherish what we don’t have now. Isn’t it?" Hansa concluded.
