Censor Board's new cuss word list put on hold?

Censor Board chairman Pahlaj Nihalani

The new list of 28 cuss words that new Censor Board chairman Pahlaj Nihalani said would be banned from films, has been put on hold. Sources say that the same was put on hold after a high level meeting held today.

The new list which had banned a whole lot of Hindi and English words had caused quite an uproar in the industry with not a single soul supporting the new moralistic stand of the Censor Board.

Pahlaj Nihalani had in his defence said that these words were already in existence much before he assumed power.

While Pahlaj had shown the intent to obliterate the abuses from films, Censor board member had strongly objected to the same. For the moment, the new list has been put on hold pending final decision.

We tried reaching Pahlaj Nihalani and Ashok Pandit but both remained unavailable for comment.
