We have heard about a knight in the shining armour rescuing people in distress. But ever heard about a Bollywood knightess doing the same? Well, Deepika Padukone did just that when she risked her life to save a mother and her baby from getting stamped by an unruly crowd recently. Here is what happened. The pretty actress was at a garba event in Ahmedabad to promote her film Ram-Leela. The presence of the gorgeous actress sent the crowd in to a tizzy who had gathered around in large numbers to get a dekko. In spite of the massive security arrangements in place, handling the huge crowd started getting difficult. As the hustle and bustle increased, a young woman and her baby were unfortunately caught in the middle of the jostling crowd and were almost getting squashed. Now normally other stars would have beaten a hasty retreat seeing the situation getting out of hand. But Dippy did exactly the opposite. She reached out immediately and rescued the mother and her baby, pulling them to safety, far away from the maddening crowd. She was also seen assisting another woman who was caught in the midst of the swelling crowd. Now that’s what we call an actor with a humane touch. In fact this episode reminds us of an incident that happened at a press conference in Mumbai during Ram-Leela’s trailer launch. The emcee for the evening had strict instructions to limit the media interaction with Ranveer and Deepika to not more than five minutes. And as soon as those five minutes were over, the emcee signaled the end of the Q & A session much to the chagrin of the media. While Ranveer was all ready to sprint away from the prying questions of the media, it was Deepika who held him back and told the emcee that they would take more questions. Finally, the designated 5-min Q & A session lasted for a good 30 minutes all because of the magnanimous Deepika. No wonder, the actress is the darling of the Indian masses today. Right Ranbir...Oops Ranveer, we mean.
