MUMBAI: Actor Pooja Ruparel, fondly remembered for her role as Chutki in Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge, believes Dhanteras is not just a celebration of wealth but rather a celebration of deep spiritual abundance.
She said, "I do believe that the origin of all our traditional festivals, including Dhanteras, is deeply spiritual. Dhanteras has a spiritual origin, though over time it has been appropriated by industry."
"I hope in the coming years to see a resurgence of that essence meant to guide our purchases and consumption, whether it’s monetary or things we consume like food or entertainment," she added.
Pooja mentioned that while the festival symbolizes prosperity, one should not forget gratitude and mindfulness. She said, "I hope the ras of Dhan spirituality oozes with the nectar of well-being, peace, love, gentleness, and kindness that flows through our veins on a good day. I hope we have many of those good days, and that these beautiful emotions become the Dhan we cherish for the entire year."
She hopes that people get close to richness and abundance not just in terms of materialistic things and find a deeper meaning in their existence. "I hope that this year you get to own priceless things like good health, good friends, and time spent with loved ones. These are the treasures that truly make life worthwhile and make one feel rich. I pray for a larger sense of richness, prosperity, and wealth, dhan that we enjoy the ras of all year long, for everyone this Diwali and Dhanteras," Pooja ended.
