MUMBAI: Actor, UN Environment Goodwill Ambassador, and passionate environmentalist Dia Mirza stepped out last evening for a special screening of Disney Pixar’s latest visual spectacle Elio.
In Elio, a space-obsessed boy with a vivid imagination is unexpectedly beamed across the galaxy and declared Earth’s ambassador by a quirky council of aliens. As he journeys through bizarre planets and eccentric lifeforms, Elio must discover what it truly means to belong — a theme that struck a chord with Dia, who herself represents Earth on the global stage through her advocacy for the environment and sustainability.
“Elio is such a beautiful, imaginative story about courage, identity, and finding where you belong,” Dia shared after the screening. “As a mother and as someone who works every day to represent our planet and future generations, watching this was incredibly special. It’s a reminder of how important it is to nurture empathy, curiosity, and responsibility in our children — and this film does that in the most magical way.”
Disney Pixar’s Elio releases in theatres on June 20, 2025 in English, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.
