MUMBAI: The longstanding feud surrounding the films Savi and Jigra intensified dramatically after actor-filmmaker Divya Khossla made public an audio recording of a private phone conversation with veteran producer Mukesh Bhatt.
Divya's move came in response to Bhatt’s earlier media statements implying that she had engineered the controversy surrounding the two films merely for personal attention.

The core of the dispute dates back to 2024 when Divya first accused the makers of Jigra (which starred Alia Bhatt) of copying the core plot premise of her project, Savi.
In a subsequent interview, Mukesh Bhatt had publicly dismissed Divya’s claims, stating, "What Divya did for publicity, I don't know about that. To get some attention in the media, you can create some controversy.
Everyone needs publicity, and for publicity, you need some controversy."
Days after these comments, Divya shared the recording on her social media account, capturing a tense conversation where she demanded clarification.
She directly confronted Mukesh Bhatt, asking, "Did you say something against me that I did something cheap? That I create the Jigra–Alia controversy as a publicity stunt?"
In a surprising reversal during the call, Bhatt completely denied making the remarks, insisting the negative press was orchestrated by unnamed forces. He responded, "No one asked me anything, nor did I say anything to anyone.
This is being created by people who have vested interests."
Divya expressed her deep distress that these negative reports had circulated widely on her birthday.
Bhatt then offered a theory that the timing was intentional, intended to harm her. He reassured her, saying, "The fact that it's come on your birthday means somebody who wants to hurt you has intentionally planned this.
First of all, I didn't know it was your birthday. And I wouldn't do such cheap things; you know me by now, beta." He further hinted that the negative stories were "backlash from the other camp."
Following the call, Divya published the recording and issued a powerful statement, explaining her decision to expose the private conversation.
She wrote, "I am deeply shocked by this revelation. What I have recently discovered is disturbing and heartbreaking.
Unfortunately, I am left with no choice but to put out the telephonic conversation between Mr Mukesh Bhatt and me so people can hear for themselves how certain groups attempt to sabotage careers and push genuine talent out.
This behaviour is unacceptable and cannot be normalised. It is time we speak up. It is time we call out the industry mafia. I will raise my voice, and I will fight this out."
Her actions have reignited a critical public debate on the alleged power dynamics, hierarchy, and gatekeeping within the Hindi film industry.
