MUMBAI: Filmmaker Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri has consistently made waves in cinema with his brave storytelling and impactful narratives. After earning widespread acclaim for films like The Tashkent Files, The Kashmir Files, and The Vaccine War, the National Award-winning director is now gearing up to present yet another compelling story with his upcoming film, The Delhi Files. As anticipation builds, the filmmaker reflects on the emotional journey of bringing this story to life, revealing how deeply it has affected him and the entire crew.

Taking to his social media, Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri shares a picture of himself and further jotted down the caption -

"Before we began shooting #TheDelhiFiles, we knew it was a painful chapter of India's history. But we never imagined how deeply it would affect us, especially the younger crew members. The pain, persecution, torture and sacrifice our people endured seem almost unimaginable to them. Our history they were never taught.

Every day on set, someone breaks down. Last night, it was me."

Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri undertook intense research, traveling from Kerala to Kolkata to Delhi, covering vast distances to gather accurate and comprehensive information for his film. He immersed himself in a wealth of literature, reading over 100 books and more than 200 articles related to the historical events that form the backbone of his film. He and his team also traveled across 20 states4 for research, studying over 7000+ research pages and 1000 above archived articles beyond books.

The Delhi file : The Bengal Chapter will be directed by Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri and Jointly produced by Pallavi Joshi and  Abhishek Agarwal. The film, presented by Tej Narayan Agarwal & I Am Buddha productions, will release worldwide on 15th August, 2025.
