During the Supercar Tour, which featured a posh car parade, a terrible tragedy happened while Gayatri and Vikas were on holiday in Sardinia. Their Lamborghini was involved in a terrible rollover and subsequent crash after colliding with a Ferrari and a camper van. Melissa Krautli, 63, and Markus Krautli, 67, who were traveling in the Ferrari, died tragically when it caught fire. Both were citizens of Switzerland.

Gayatri shared, "Vikas and I are currently in Italy. We were involved in an accident here, involving multiple cars... Thankfully, both of us are unharmed, thanks to the grace of God."

Following her victory in the Femina Miss India International competition in 2000, Gayatri garnered notoriety when she represented India in Miss International 2000. Alongside Shah Rukh Khan, she also gained a name for herself in the 2004 Ashutosh Gowariker film Swades. An NRI NASA engineer who reconnects with his Indian roots is the focus of the movie.

Gayatri got an appreciation for her "mature" role in Swades, which was favorable. She has a background in modeling for advertisements and has starred in a number of music videos, including Hans Raj Hans' "Jhanjaria" and Jagjit Singh's "Kaghaz Ki Kashti."
