MUMBAI: Ever since the demise of the Dil Bechara actor, Sushant Singh Rajput, the prime suspect of the case Rhea Chakraborty has faced a lot. After Sushant’s death, his father KK Singh lodged an FIR against the actress and five others, accusing them of abetment of suicide. Later, as the Narcotics Control Bureau started investigating the drugs angle in SSR’s death case, the actress was arrested by the agency for her involvement. Now, after the Bombay High Court recently reserved its verdict in Rhea’s bail plea, Suchitra Krishnamoorthi slammed the ‘screamers of patriarchy’ and also took a dig at B-town celebrities over Chakraborty’s case.
On Twitter, Suchitra Krishnamoorthi reacted to news reported by CNN News18. It was reported that Justice S.V. Kotwal of the Bombay High Court has reserved the order in the bail pleas of Bollywood actress Rhea Chakraborty and her brother Showik in connection to the drugs case filed by the NCB.
Reacting to the report, the Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa star questioned the silence Bollywood celebrities have maintained over Rhea Chakraborty’s case. She tweeted, “why are the screamers of patriarchy now suddenly silent?” Suchitra Krishnamoorthi also made another threaded tweet and wrote, “#patriarchy.” In her tweet, Suchitra questioned why the screamers of patriarchy are suddenly silent now when Rhea needs their support the most.

Suchitra Krishnamoorthi draws reference from the “roses are red, violets are blue, let’s smash the patriarchy, me and you” statement, a caption that was printed on Rhea Chakraborty’s top on the day of her arrest. This statement was later posted on social media by many Bollywood stars including Amitabh Bachchan’s daughter Shweta Bachchan, Sonam K Ahuja, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Farhan Akhtar and several other stars, extending their support to Rhea on September 8, the day of her arrest.
