Deepika Padukone is an avid sports lover. The actress who is an ace badminton player just like her father also keenly follows other sports including cricket. With the Cricket World Cup round the corner, Deepika too is as excited as other fellow Indians.

Sending her best wishes to the team, Deepika said, "I wish our team all the very best and I am hopeful that they will retain the cup this time as well. There are a lot of good players and with Dhoni at the helm of affairs, things look good."

The pretty lady however expressed her deep disappointment over the exclusion of star all-rounder, Yuvraj Singh. Yuvraj who is friends with Deepika was also once rumoured to be dating the actress. The link-up rumours of them going steady started coming in thick and fast and one also heard about the duo allegedly house hunting in Mumbai. Deepika had even flow down to Australia while Yuvraj was engaged in a match there. However, soon enough both went their separate ways and neither ever spoke about their rumoured relationship.

The Punjabi cricketer's current omission has already caused enough heartache to fans all across and Deepika too feels no differently.

"I am deeply disappointed that Yuvraj Singh is not a part of our team. I heard that he had performed brilliantly in the Ranji games as well. So his omission was a bit surprising. His presence would have certainly given the team an edge. But having said that, let's hope our young team wins and retains the world cup."

Well, Yuvraj's non-inclusion notwithstanding, let's hope young India brings back the cup this time as well.
