MUMBAI: Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan turns 77 years old today and also marks 5 decades entertaining his fans across the world with his stellar performances in Indian cinema. To pay a tribute to his contribution to the Indian cinema, author and film historian SMM Ausaja shares an exclusive picture of “Big B” which was captured by his brother Ajitabh Bachchan in the year 1967 with IMDb. The photograph was the same one which was shared with director Khwaja Ahmed Abbas who gave Amitabh Bachchan his first ever break in Bollywood in the film Saat Hindustani.
Author and film historian SMM Ausaja said, “The picture was taken in the year 1967, in Kolkata of Amitabh Bachchan by his brother Ajitabh Bachchan. The picture was sent to Filmfare Madhuri Talent Contest and also was sent to various producers in Indian cinema. Though Mr. Bachchan was rejected in the Filmfare Madhuri Talent Contest but director and producer Khwaja Ahmed Abbas signed him for Saat Hindustani. He also won his first national award for the film. The smouldering intensity of his eyes remains intact even now.”
