MUMBAI: On September 19, Meera, the daughter of South star Vijay Antony, was discovered dead at their home. Her body was sent for post-mortem examination to ascertain the cause of death since police officers suspected suicide as the reason for death.

Meera, a class 12 student, reportedly struggled with stress and sadness. After the terrible incident, a video of Vijay Antony from years ago that he had posted to YouTube became viral on social media. In it, he implored people not to take drastic measures and talked about his father's passing.

Vijay Antony spoke in a social media video that went viral about the importance of enduring in the face of difficulties. The actor also discussed how he lost his father to suicide when he was a young boy and urged others to hold off on making such a drastic decision.

Vijay counselled for suicide, saying that it is never a good idea, regardless of how terrible life becomes or the kinds of challenges one faces. When the actor discussed his father's suicide, he disclosed that Vijay was only 7 years old at the time, while his younger sister was only 5 years old. Vijay continued, "Such events are heartbreaking for kids." The actor claimed he observed his mother's struggles in raising her two children by herself as well as the difficulties she faced.

Vijay Antony discussed youngsters with suicidal tendencies in the same interview. According to the actor, some people may have similar feelings as a result of their family's financial position, while others may have felt deceived by a confidant.

Children today face enormous academic pressure, according to Vijay. The actor talked about how the kids go straight to tuition after school. He said, “Remember, you aren’t even giving them time to think. Please don’t do that. Allow them some time to be free. As for adults, I want them to love themselves rather than be obsessed over wealth and success.”

Two children were born to Vijay Antony and Fatima. Their 16-year-old daughter Meera, who was studying in the 12th grade, committed suicide on September 19. Lara is the couple's second daughter.
