Karan Johar has not approached me for Shuddhi yet - Deepika Padukone

For a while now speculations have been rife about Deepika having replaced Kareena in Karan Johar's ambitious project Shuddhi. It sounded like a casting coup with Deepika starring opposite the hunky Hrithik Roshan. Unfortunately, Hrithik officially walked out of the project leaving the makers in a lurch. Then trickled in news of Ranveer Singh having been approached to star in the film opposite Deepika. However setting rumours to rest, Deepika told us yesterday that she is not a part of the movie yet. When asked if she is doing Shuddhi, Deepika said, "I am not doing Shuddhi. I have not been approached yet. Even Karan (Johar) doesn't know what's happening with the project. He needs to figure it out first.” Deepika did admit that the movie looked interesting when Hrithik was a part of it. “At a time when Hrithik was associated with the movie, it sounded interesting and exciting.” The actress, however did mention that if approached she will have no qualms in doing the movie. “If Karan thinks the role will suit me and if he approaches me with it, I will do it opposite any other male co-star that he chooses.” Well, we hope KJO is listening.
