MUMBAI: The strong on-screen chemistry and off-screen camaraderie between actors Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday often fuel fan speculation about their relationship status, and a recent public appearance brought this to a hilarious head.

The incident occurred during an event where the two stars were present for a promotional engagement, likely for their upcoming film, Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri.

A viral video clip captured the moment when a dedicated fan in the crowd held up a sign for Kartik Aaryan that read, "Please date Ananya Panday."

Instead of ignoring the message or giving a serious reply, Kartik Aaryan reacted with his trademark playful humour.

The actor, who was posing for photos on stage, noticed the fan's placard. He immediately stopped, pointed at the sign, and turned to face his co-star, Ananya Panday, with an exaggerated expression of confusion and surprise.

In the video, Kartik is seen reacting to the sign with a theatrical shrug and a comical hand gesture, before appearing to ask, "What should I do?" or a similar lighthearted query, which left the audience and Ananya laughing.

Ananya also smiled and gestured back, indicating she found the spontaneous fan message amusing.

Kartik and Ananya previously worked together in the film Pati Patni Aur Woh and are set to star in the romantic comedy Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri, directed by Sameer Vidwans, which is scheduled for a Christmas 2025 release.
