Krrish 3 takes India by storm; collects 100 crore in 3 days flat

Krrish 3
Move aside Chennai Express, for there is a new superhero entrant in the 100 crore club. Krrish 3 has arrived and how. Just three days after its release, Krrish has emerged as a clear winner at the box-office with trade pundits pegging the total box-office collection at Rs. 108 crore for the moment. In fact, Monday saw Krrish 3 accumulating a record breaking 35 crore at the box-office thereby derailing Chennai Express’s record of 33 crore in a single day collection. Not surprisingly, people have been booking their seats well in advance to catch this sci-fi movie. With Diwali yet to finish and holidays still continuing especially for kids, the movie looks well set to do a smashing business. Now the prime question being asked by one and all is whether Krrish 3 will break the 200-crore record held by SRK’s Chennai Express? “It’s still early days to say that Krrish will break SRK’s record. It will surely do a roaring business and I can certainly see it doing a total business of 175 crore in all. How much more business it will do is difficult to predict,” avers trade analyst Komal Nahata. Krrish 3’s success has again reinstated the fact that Diwali is the most lucrative period to release a movie. The Diwali factor notwithstanding, Komal pegs down different reasons for Krrish 3’s monumental success. “First it’s a super hero movie. Secondly, brand Hrithik Roshan as Krrish has always been liked by people. Thirdly, Rakesh and Hrithik form a deadly combo that is unbeatable.” Though the film certainly seems to be drawing audience in hordes, a certain section of film critics thrashed the movie for its unimaginative plot and drawing inspiration from Hollywood movies. Komal though begs to differ on this aspect. “90% of Indian audience still watches Bollywood. For these people, Krrish represents a brand new world. The visual effects have stunned them and they are just loving it. “ Inspired or otherwise, Krrish 3 certainly looks poised to rewrite record books in the days to come.
