MUMBAI: In a ground-breaking development for Bollywood, Hrithik Roshan is set to step behind the camera for the highly anticipated Krrish 4.
Renowned for being one of Hindi cinema's most bankable stars, Hrithik has captivated audiences with memorable performances in films such as Super 30, Kaabil, and War. Now, he is poised to carve a new niche as a director.
The Krrish franchise, a monumental contribution to Indian cinema, has long been a Roshan family legacy.
It all began with Koi... Mil Gaya, a heart-warming sci-fi tale where Hrithik portrayed Rohan Mehra, a character who befriends an alien life form and protects it from harm. The film became an instant hit with audiences, particularly children.
Following its success, the franchise expanded with Krrish and Krrish 3, both blockbusters that cemented the series' place in Bollywood history.
Rumours had been rife that Krrish 4 would be helmed by director Siddharth Anand. However, budgetary constraints reportedly led to his departure from the project.
In a surprising turn of events, it has now been confirmed that Hrithik Roshan will take on the directorial reins. His father, veteran filmmaker Rakesh Roshan, who directed the previous three instalments, shared the exciting news on social media.
Posting a heartfelt picture with Hrithik, Rakesh Roshan wrote, "Duggu, 25 years ago I launched you as an actor, and today, once again, you are being launched as a director by two filmmakers, Aditya Chopra and myself, to carry forward our most ambitious film. Wishing you all the success in this new avatar with good wishes and blessings."
With Krrish 4 now set to be co-produced by Aditya Chopra, the film has already generated immense buzz among fans and industry insiders alike.
As one of the most eagerly awaited films of recent times, it promises to bring a fresh vision under Hrithik's direction.
Mark your calendars, as Krrish 4 is slated for release in 2026. With this new chapter in the Roshan legacy, expectations are sky-high, and audiences can't wait to see what Hrithik Roshan brings to the table as a filmmaker.
