Meet the actor who worked in two famous shows, lost his home and money after giving flops and now he is an event planner

This Indian cinema actor who left his successful cricket career to pursue acting where he has also worked in two famous shows but unfortunately he lost everything in 1992 after giving a string of failures.

MUMBAI: The Indian television market is overflowing with over-the-top (OTT) platforms and dozens of major channels nowadays. However, Doordarshan was India's prominent source of small-screen entertainment thirty years ago. This implied that stardom was guaranteed for a successful show. Hum Log, India's first daily soap opera, was the country's first major hit on television. And it turned a lot of actors into sudden celebrities. Abhinav Chaturvedi was one of them; he gave up a bright cricket career to pursue acting.

Abhinav Chaturvedi was a gifted cricketer who represented the state team in age-group competitions while he was a youngster in Delhi. However, he also harboured acting aspirations. He learned that Hum Log, a TV series, was being cast in 1984. One of the main characters in the show, Nanhe, was paired with Abhinav. He starred in the show and shot to fame at the age of twenty. As a result of its immense popularity, Hum Log surpassed all other TV series in India's history in terms of viewership. He contributed to another popular TV series called Buniyaad two years later. Known as a television celebrity, Abhinav attempted to translate his fame to the big screen as well.He made his Hindi Film  Industry debut in 1988 with the film Parbat Ke Us Paar.

Abhinav performed in several movies in the late 1980s and early 1990s, including Yodha, Jeevan Ek Sangharsh, and Bhrashtachar. These were all a bust at the box office. He did have several hits, such as Saudagar (1991), although his parts in these movies were modest. However, Abhinav gave up in 1992 following a string of failures. The actor reportedly lost his Mumbai house and had no money for rent during that time. Consequently, he made the decision to return to Delhi and give up on movies forever.

Abhinav attempted to open a production house in Delhi in the 1990s, but it was never successful. Between 2001 and 2002, he made a brief appearance in a TV series, which would be his final acting role. He started working as an event planner in the corporate sector in the 2000s and was successful there.
