MUMBAI: Jaya Bachchan met Amitabh Bachchan for the first time on the sets of Guddi. This is when Jaya was already a superstar, but Amitabh was a struggling actor. Even back then, she predicted that he would become a superstar, and no one else agreed with her. Her strong intuitions proved to be spot on, later when Amitabh made his place as the top actor of the time.
Big B is quite active on social media. He is seen updating his fans about his whereabouts on his blog. Today, as Jaya Bachchan brings in her 74th birthday, he wished her through a video call. Big B is away from home as he is currently shooting for his next project.
He wrote on his blog, "past the midnight hour and the FT with wife to wish her birthday 9th April and to admire the modern technology that allows us the benefit of seeing and hearing in real-time."
He added, "Pensive at times to think of the loss of opportunity in travel to meet dear ones soon .. but shall give the patience and all shall work out soon."
Earlier today, their daughter Shweta Bachchan also took to Instagram, shared major throwback pictures of Jaya Bachchan, and penned a sweet note. In the first picture, Jaya Bachchan is seen sporting an NCC cadet attire while in the second picture, she is seen relishing a crab. Along with the pictures, Shweta wrote, "Mother, may you always smile like you’ve made best NCC cadet or like you have a huge plate of crabs to devour."

Meanwhile, Jaya Bachchan will be next seen in Karan Johar's Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani. The film will mark Karan Johar's return to the director's chair. His last directorial venture was Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahan stars Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt in lead roles. The film also features Dharmendra and Shabana Azmi.
On the other hand, on the professional front, Amitabh was recently seen in Jhund in the role of a football coach. The film was helmed by Nagraj Manjule. His performance in it was loved and the film received a lot of love from critics. Besides this, Amitabh Bachchan will be seen in Runway 34 with Ajay Devgn and Rakul Preet Singh. He also has Brahmastra with Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor.
