Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh took a dig at PK and its makers for what he felt was offensive and insulting portrayal of Hindu religion and deity Lord Shiva in the movie.
When asked about what he felt about PK and the way it portrayed spiritual gurus and religion, Ram Rahim said , "I have not seen PK but I have heard from people that fun was poked at a particular religion (Dharam ki khilli udayi hai aisa suna hai). I think there are scenes where it is shown that you won't be slapped if you paste god's pictures on your cheek. I have been told that there are scenes where Lord Mahadev is kept shut in bathroom and shown running scared. Lord Mahadev had drank poison and kept it stuck at his neck to keep the world safe. How can the Lord be afraid of the things as is shown in the movie?"
PK which had courted controversy for its portrayal of Lord Shiva and Hindu religion also drew flak from Ram Rahim who said that it was wrong to just poke fun at just one religion and spiritual gurus belonging to that specific religion. "I believe no religion should be insulted or made fun of. But if you are doing so, then maintain uniformity. You should expose the wrong doings in other religions too. Expose the frauds of other religion. Every religion has good and bad people. Showcase those fraudsters from other religion as well."
For the moment, it is Ram Rahim's debut film, MSG, The Messenger that has him fully occupied. The movie is releasing on 13th February.
