Race 2 would be equipped with Dolby surround sound 'Dolby Atmos'

Dolby Laboratories, Inc. has announced that the upcoming Tips Industries’ action thriller Race 2 will release with its surround sound technology Dolby Atmos in select theatres on 25 January (2013). Dolby Atmos will deliver a more natural and realistic sound field to the film moving sound around and above cinema audiences, transporting them into the on-screen adventure. Said Dolby Laboratories, India Country Manager Pankaj Kedia, “It’s an inspiring time in cinema, with movie making being taken to new frontiers with Dolby’s next-generation audio solutions. When Race 2 hits theatres equipped with Dolby Atmos, audiences will be transported into the journey with the lifelike realism that the creative team envisioned.” The sound designer for the movie is Rakesh Ranjan, and the movie has been mixed by Leslie Fernandes. “It is a pleasure to be mixing my movie Race 2 in Dolby Atmos. I think viewers will be delighted with the enhanced immersive sound experience of this phenomenal technology,” said producer Ramesh S. Taurani. “I strive to make movies that allow the audience to feel part of the action on the screen. And now with Dolby Atmos, Race 2 will have more depth and realism, taking the excitement of movie to the next level,” he added. Directed by Abbas-Mustan, the film stars Saif Ali Khan, Anil Kapoor, John Abraham, Deepika Padukone, Jacqueline Fernandez and Ameesha Patel.
