Latest reports come in is that the much acclaimed filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani is currently in the hospital recuperating a mishap on the road.

As reported by the media, the director met with an accident at Pali Hill, Bandra today morning (11 August), while he was riding a bike.

The report suggests that Hirani was riding one of his colleague’s Royal Enfield bike and skidded while turning around. Since he wasn’t speeding, he did not receive any major injury. He has fractured his jaw and a cut on his face which should heal within a few weeks, the assessment at the hospital said.

"He fell on his chin and suffered a minor fracture on his jaw. He may not need a surgery," said Dr Jalil Parker, who is treating Hirani at Lilavati Hospital in Bandra to a national daily’s website.

Currently the filmmaker is in the ICU and might undergo a surgery today in the evening.
