MUMBAI: Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt recently attended an event in Dubai, where the couple delighted attendees with candid revelations about their personal lives. One of the most surprising confessions came from Ranbir, who revealed that although he is not officially on social media, he does secretly maintain a fake Instagram account.
Ranbir shared, “I am not officially on Instagram. I do have a finsta, a fake Insta account. There are so many amazing and inspirational people in the world, and I want to follow them quietly.”

He explained that he chooses not to have a public Instagram profile because he feels it would pressure him to present himself to the world constantly. “As an actor, I already have cinema to express myself. I didn’t want another platform where I have to show myself off.”
When asked if he ever posts anything, Ranbir surprised everyone by saying, “Actually, on my finsta account, I made a reel with my daughter Raha and posted it. But I have no followers, so it’s just floating in the air.”
This prompted Alia Bhatt to jump in with a playful revelation. “He wouldn’t even let me follow him,” she said. “He told me, ‘No, if you follow me, everyone will find out.’ I peeked into his phone once and saw he has just two reels on his Insta, which only he and maybe two other people can see.”
Ranbir doubled down, adding, “If she follows me, the world will get to know.” Their light-hearted banter left the audience amused.
The couple also brought a nostalgic moment to the stage when they danced to "Badtameez Dil" from Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, receiving loud cheers from the fans.

Ranbir and Alia are set to reunite on-screen in Love & War, a Sanjay Leela Bhansali directorial co-starring Vicky Kaushal. The film, described as an intense romantic epic, is slated for release on August 14, 2026.
Ranbir also has the highly anticipated Ramayana in the pipeline, starring alongside Yash and Sai Pallavi, making it one of the most anticipated projects in Indian cinema.
The event in Dubai gave fans a rare glimpse into Ranbir and Alia’s off-screen personalities — playful, candid, and refreshingly real.
