Hindi cinema has rolled out many adaptations of love tragedies, with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela being the latest.
Donning the mantle of a creative producer, Imtiaz Ali is all set to create a spellbinding effect on his audience with director Ravi Jadhav’s adaptation of Laila-Majnu to be made under the banner of Balaji Motion Pictures.
Earlier, Ali did leave a mesmerizing effect via his movies bet it Jab We Met, Rockstar or his latest release Highway.
Incidentally, Ravi Jadhav has garnered overwhelming reviews for his work in Marathi films like Natarang, Bal Gandharva and Riteish Deshmukh’s Balak Palak. Earlier, he had directed Tomorrow's Decided a music video for Pentagram based on an electro-rock band based in Mumbai.
The connect between Ali and Jadhav came about when the latter sat across the former for a script hearing session. And reports say Ali loved the script immensely and is excited to start the project. He will also oversee the production.
The film will be primarily shot in Kashmir. Jadhav is currently busy finalizing the locations in the valley.
