MUMBAI: Kriti Kharbanda, who is currently riding high on the success of her OTT debut in Rana Naidu 2, recently gave fans a glimpse into her bubbly, unfiltered side during a candid interview. The actress, known for her effortless charm and honesty, opened up about how Jab We Met was more than just a film for her — it was a reflection of her own personality growing up.
“I mean, I can speak a lot. We can do this interview for 6 hours, I will not get tired. Speaking is my favourite pastime,” Kriti admitted candidly, with her trademark charm. The actress then shared a nostalgic anecdote from her school days, revealing how much she resonated with the iconic Geet from “Jab We Met”.
“I remember when Jab We Met came out, I was in 11th or 12th standard. My friends had gone to watch the morning show and they come back and they’re like – ‘Kriti, we just saw you on screen. Real-life Geet,’” she laughed, recalling the moment. “It never ends. And honestly, I have really used this line where I have told people – Aap convince ho gaye ya main aur bolun? This is before Jab We Met! So, the funny thing is that same night, I went in the afternoon to watch it with my friends and I’m like, oh yeah, this is me. Then at night, I took my parents with me and I watched Jab We Met three times in one day because I felt so connected with that character.”
While she laughs at the comparison today, she confesses that there was once a full-on Geet energy running through her veins. “Now I have become sweet, mature, and delicate… but then, I was a toofan person.”
On the work front, Kriti recently made her OTT debut with Rana Naidu 2, where she surprised fans with her powerful and gritty portrayal of a complex character. The performance has not only marked a new chapter in her career but is also earning her much-deserved praise. Up next, Kriti will be seen in Risky Romeo, a genre-bending noir love story opposite Sunny Singh. The film promises to explore a dark, edgy side of romance, further proving Kriti’s versatility and fearless approach to storytelling.
