MUMBAI: Actor Rivaan Gajbhiye is all set to charm audiences as Deepu in the new show Dhaakad Beera, produced by Yash and Mamta Patnaik under Inspire Films. The actor says that the show has with a compelling storyline, one that is centered around sibling bonds and social justice.

“Dhaakad Beera is not just about the bond between a brother and sister. It goes deeper, it portrays a strong-willed brother who is deeply emotional about his sister and stands up against societal evils to protect her. He even rebels against his own grandmother. The show sheds light on regressive practices in village life, especially those that deny women their right to make decisions about their own lives,” Rivaan says.

He adds, “This is my first show with Inspire Films. I’ve always heard great things about their past work, especially shows like Ek Veer Ki Ardaas…Veera, which were quite successful. I truly hope Dhaakad Beera also makes a strong impact and resonates with the audience. We’re giving it our all, and I hope viewers connect with the story and shower their blessings.”

The show’s title itself, Dhaakad Beera, is one that catches your attention, he says. “Yes, the name is definitely unique. ‘Dhaakad Beera’ essentially means a fearless and strong-willed brother who will go to any lengths to protect his sister, Kishmish. It perfectly captures the essence of his character, someone who is ready to fight any battle for his sister’s well-being,” he adds.

The actor’s character Deepu plays a vital part in the storyline, especially in supporting Beera. “I’m playing the role of Deepu, who is Samrat's close friend. He is always by Samrat’s side, offering support especially when the odds are against him. Their friendship is a strong pillar in the story. I didn’t really need to prep much for this role, because being a supportive friend comes naturally to me, even in real life. Samrat and I are good friends off-screen too; we often hang out and have fun during breaks on set,” he says.

In terms of appearance, Rivaan has kept things real and relatable for his role. “Look-wise, I’ve retained my natural curly-boy look. It adds authenticity to my character and keeps things real,” he says.
