Ruslaan movie review: Aayush Sharma is tied between love and emotions for the nation

Aayush Sharma's action-packed film will tear you apart between emotions and logic when it comes to nation related concerns.
Ruslaan movie

MUMBAI : Ruslaan film cast: Aayush Sharma, Jagapathi Babu, Vidya Malavade, Sushrii Shreya Mishra

Ruslaan director: Karan Butani

Ruslaan essayed by Aayush Sharma is adamant to prove that he would not be defined by his dad's image of being a terrorist. He wants to create his name, and make a permanent mark in the RAW agency. However, his constant urge to do the correct thing makes him land in dangerous situations. It was not an easy journey for Aayush in the film industry, despite having Salman Khan as his brother-in-law. From his debut film 'Loveyatri' to 'Antim:The Final Truth', the star with 'Ruslaan' has made a cinematic impact.

What to expect?

In the film, Ruslaan is shown to have lost his family in an encounter. He gets adopted by Major Sameer who is a top police officer and also has a loving wife. He is a music teacher who can swoon women by just strumming the guitar. Karan L Butani the director of the film decides to always highlight the hero of his film- Ruslaan.

What Ruslaan wants to prove?

From the introduction scene to the climax, Ruslaan is the good boy that the nation needs. Yunus Sajawal, Mohit Srivastava, Kavin Dave are the writers of the film who ensure to add weird twists and tipsy-curvy turns in the movie. Vikram Dahiya and Dinesh Subbarayan ensure that well-crafted action stunts are executed and the concept of good vs evil hails. The suspense is building in a nice way but the climax could have added some more power. Ruslaan is ready to give his 'jaan' for the nation or prove to his senior Vidya Malavade who is a RAW Operative head that he is a national hero.

Aayush Sharma makes you emotional in certain scenes. He has essayed Ruslaan with a lot of depth. However, audiences do find it difficult to relate to his journey. Sushrii Shreya Mishraa makes her debut with this film and plays Ruslaan's lover. She is a tough spy who plays with her expressions. The screenplay is rhythmic but also has some unnecessary forced songs. Jagapathi Babu is a top cop who has given shelter to a terrorist's orphan child. Patriotic dialogues leave the desh bhakt feeling within, while emotionally you can relate to certain social-drama scenes. G. Sreenivas Reddy’s cinematography is bleak.

So cheesy:

Ruslaan has a friend named Tabla who is so innocent that he is ready to be used by his best friend. He hogs and is a coding master. An evil Chinese man loves torturing people.

In the end, Ruslaan focuses on keeping the logical mind outside the theatres. It will give you the perfect dose of adrenaline rush, and teach you humanity lessons because desh bhakti is an old song.

Verdict: 3(out of 5 stars)
