It is already known that Anurag Khashyap’s Gangs of Wasseypur (GOW), that has a total viewing time of five hours and twenty minutes, was split into two parts. The first part was released on 22 June (2012).
Despite an ‘A’ certificate, GOW has received a positive response from the audience and critical acclaim as well. Now, the second part is set to be released on 19 August around two months later. Naturally, Viacom 18, the co-producer and distributor of the film wants to cash in on part one’s box office acceptance.

The movie chronicles the journey of the saga associated with coal mines. The film, a gang warfare, is a revenge saga, a tableau of vengeance between generations of gangsters.
According to our source in Mumbai-based multiplex, the film has been doing good business averaging 100 per cent occupancy on weekends and between 70 to 80 per cent on weekdays.
