MUMBAI: Comedian Zakir Khan's talk program Aapka Apna Zakir made its Sony TV debut last weekend, including guests such as Karan Johar, Rajkummar Rao, and Shraddha Kapoor. The casts of Vedaa and Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba appeared on the show during its second week.
Zakir Khan had a light-hearted conversation with actors John Abraham, Sharvari, and Abhishek Banerjee on Sunday, in addition to Vedaa director Nikkhil Advani. John mentioned that he had joked with Shah Rukh Khan at Pathaan's success celebration that he wanted a bike. It was Shah Rukh who fulfilled John's request.
John recalled the story on Aapka Apna Zakir, “My last film Pathaan was with Shah Rukh. I remember there was a success party after the film’s release, and Shah Rukh was like, ‘Come on John, let’s party! Apni picture chal rahi hai. Achha opening mila hai.’ I said that I wanted to stay home and sleep. Toh unhone bola kya chahiye tumhe? Maine bola ek motorcycle de do bas. Toh unhone mujhe motorcycle gift ki. Main khush ho ke gaya ghar. (I remember, after the film, there was a success party and Shah Rukh was very excited. I told him that I wanted to stay home and sleep, and he asked me what I wanted. I told him that I wanted a bike, and he gave me one).”
John recently gave SRK some praise on a podcast. He had referred to the superstar as "smart, intelligent, but also very caring and cute" during his appearance on Ranveer Allahbadia's show. He also talked about how well they got along when John played the evil Jim in the movie Pathaan.
As a way to mark the success of Pathaan which went on to become one of the biggest films in Indian history, John bought himself a stylish Suzuki Hayabusa, which was worth Rs. 17 lakh. John is enthusiastic about motorcycles and has amassed an outstanding collection of motorcycles. Other people also have bikes as gifts from Shah Rukh Khan beside John. Following Chennai Express's triumph in 2013, Shah Rukh Khan gave filmmaker Rohit Shetty an Ed Hardy bike.
The reviews for John's most recent movie, Vedaa, haven't been great. Just Rs 15.5 crore had been made by the movie in its first five days of release.
