MUMBAI: Shahid and Mira Kapoor's relationship began with an arranged setup. They connected after they were introduced by their families. In 2015, at the young age of twenty, Mira made the courageous decision to leave her whole life behind in Delhi and tied the knot with the popular actor Shahid Kapoor. She moved to the Mumbai of dreams with him. The couple later welcomed their daughter, Misha, in 2016, and completed their family after welcoming their son, Zain in 2018.

Mira also ensures that her children, Misha and Zain remain disciplined and she graduated in English with honors.

In an interview with the popular news portal, Mira discussed their parenting style and said that it is simple to have kids and that raising kids is a village effort.

Tagging herself as the 'bad cop'. She said, "It is very easy to spoil kids. I think its takes a village to raise a child. There are grandparents, uncles, aunts, they are all there. The balancing act continues. It will always be there. I think I am the bad cop in general. Whether it is not giving them what they want or telling them their bed time, or making them do their home work or teaching them their tables."

Further, Mira stated that Shahid is the one who spoils the children. He often gifts them cool shoes and she has to stop him from doing so.

Recalling an instance, Mira revealed, "I think their dad gets to spoil them a little bit and get them cool shoes and I am going to be like you can’t get them these shoes. On the other hand, he is like I don’t want my kids to be like that and then I am like see you can’t do that when you are giving them these shoes.

In case you didn't know, Mira and Shahid Kapoor are 14 years apart. The actor frequently gives his wife Mira Kapoor credit for changing him. Speaking about the same subject, Mira disclosed that Shahid's dream has always been to start his own family. She said that he had grown spiritually over the years.

She said, "Another part of him that I have seen really evolve is his spiritual side. That is something that I have seen he has really honed and worked on and that is his own personal journey but I think its found its way into his self expression and his being and the way he conducts himself so differently. A side of him has come out that is very warm, affectionate and emphathetic. He always had that empathy but had none to empathise with."

Shahid had previously disclosed that he began to feel lonely at the age of 33 in an interview with the popular news portal. Big awards adorned his shelves, but he had no one with whom to celebrate his wins. Even though he was self-sufficient, happy, and succeeding in his work, something was missing. He desired a companion and a life with his own family. Shahid declared that this was the moment he was willing to settle down with a partner.
