Veteran actor Shashi Kapoor was wheeled into Kokilaben Ambani hospital last evening after suffering from severe chest infection. The actor has been admitted to the ICU wing of the hospital and is being treated by top doctors.
Shashi, 76 who is today wheel-chair bound was rushed to the hospital after complaining of breathlessness and acute cough. Dr Ram Narain, Executive Director of the hospital was quoted saying, "Shashi Kapoor has been diagnosed with a chest infection. Although he is in the ICU for now, he is stable. We are administering him with antibiotics."
In his stellar career where he starred in more than 150 movies including foreign ones, Shashi's performance has brought him three National awards and a Filmfare award. He was also awarded the Padma Bhusha by the government of India.
On the personal front, Shashi Kapoor's been battling health issues for quite a while now and had earlier also undergone a bypass operation.
Let's hope the ever-so-handsome Shashi Kapoor returns back to fine health soon.
