Shatrughan Sinha Opens Up After Meeting a Heartbroken Hema Malini Amid Her Devastating Loss

Veteran actor and politician Shatrughan Sinha visited his long-time colleague Dharmendra's wife, Hema Malini, and their daughters to offer condolences following the legendary actor's demise. Sinha described the meeting as "heartbreaking" due to the magnitude of Hema Malini's personal loss, while also visiting Dharmendra's sons, Sunny and Bobby Deol, separately to mourn his passing.

MUMBAI: The passing of cinema icon Dharmendra on November 24, 2025, left a massive void in the Indian film fraternity, prompting an outpouring of condolences from friends and colleagues.

Among those offering heartfelt support was veteran actor and politician Shatrughan Sinha, who paid separate visits to both parts of the late star’s family, reflecting the complex, enduring relationship they shared.

Shatrughan Sinha, accompanied by his wife Poonam Sinha, first visited the residence of actress and Member of Parliament Hema Malini and their daughters, Esha Deol and Ahana Deol.

He later shared details of the highly emotional visit on social media.

In his post, he spoke of the depth of Hema Malini's sorrow, writing, "Met our dearest family friend Hema Malini.

It was heartbreaking to meet her in these traumatic times of her tremendous loss of our dearest family friend, our elder brother, Dharmendra.

I met her two beautiful daughters, Esha Deol and Ahana Deol, with comforting words for their immense loss."

The veteran colleague’s expressions of grief were not limited to one side of the family.

Shatrughan also shared that upon returning to Mumbai from Delhi, he immediately went to the residence of Dharmendra’s first family.

He revealed that he arrived with "a very heavy, sorrowful heart" to pay his respects.

There, he met the late actor’s sons, Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol, along with Bobby’s wife, Tanya Deol, and grandsons Dharam and Aryaman.  

Shatrughan described the meeting as "heart-touching."

Reflecting on his decades-long friendship and professional collaboration, Sinha offered a moving tribute to the man known widely as the ‘He-Man’ of Indian cinema.

He emphasised Dharmendra's lasting impact, stating he "remembered Dharmji for the remarkable person he was and will live forever for the many lives he touched."

He summarised the late star's character, calling him a "kind and gentle soul," and shared that he offered prayers for the entire family to find peace and strength during this period of immense loss.

The visits underscored the deep respect and close bonds  Shatrughan shared with the entire family of his departed friend.
