MUMBAI: Aditya Dhar’s Vicky Kaushal, Yami Gautam and Mohit Raina starrer Uri: The Surgical Strikes has already gained a set of fans for the very impressive posters, teasers and trailers. The movie is all set to release on 11th January. It will clash with another film with the Indo-Pak rivalry as its backdrop—actor Shoaib Ibrahim’s Bollywood debut
As per media reports, both of these films have the backdrop of the 2016 surgical strikes and will be releasing on the same day, 11 January. But when we watch the trailers of both the movies we don’t see any similarities. While Shoaib’s film is all about how jawans of the Indian and Pakistani Army agree to play a match to regain control of Indian soil that has been usurped by Pakistani forces, the Vicky Kaushal film seems more about how the Indian Army executed the Surgical Strikes.
While talking to a leading entertainment portal, Shoaib said that the subject may be the same but the films are different. The actor also revealed that the makers of his film have taken more ‘creative liberty’ when showcasing a cricket match between the jawans of India and Pakistan.
Uri: The Surgical Strike is based on the 2016 Indian Army's surgical strike on terrorist camps in Pakistan in retaliation for the terror attack on an Army camp in Uri in Jammu and Kashmir. The movie also stars Yami Gautam, Kirti Kulhari and Paresh Rawal in important roles
