MUMBAI: Priyanka Chopra Jonas started her Bollywood career in 2003 with the Sunny Deol starrer The Hero: Love Story of a Spy. She then went on to do many other successful films like Andaaz, Mujhse Shaadi Karogi, Dostana, Bajirao Mastani, Don and many more. The actress has also made her mark in International cinema with films like Baywatch, We Can be Heroes, Isn’t It Romantic and many more.
Priyanka however first came into the limelight after winning the coveted Miss World title in 2000 at a young age of 18 years. While the country and its citizens were proud of her bringing the crown back to India, there have been some serious allegations on her regarding that win.
One of co-competitor, Leilani McConney aka Miss Barbados has claimed that Priyanka’s win in the beauty pageant was pre-decided, and fixed. Giving intricate details, she said, “Apparently she was using some skin tone cream, to even out her skin tone and it was splotchy. I did not say it was a bleaching cream, it was a skin-tone cream. It didn't work, her skin was blotchy so she did not want to remove her sarong. So during the actual judgment, she is actually in a dress.”
Leilani said that while other girls had to strut with sarongs for the swimsuit round, Chopra was allowed to wear one. The former Miss Barbados also claimed that on a beach all the girls had to get photographs in groups but PC got separate photos taken and got good media coverage, where her large pictures made it to various newspapers.
Leilani has made all these statements in her YouTube channel. Seems like the former beauty queen holds a lot of resentment for Chopra and her BFF Meghan Markle.
