MUMBAI: Sidharth Malhotra, who has long expressed admiration for the Armed Forces after portraying Captain Vikram Batra in Shershaah, recently spent time in conversation with two decorated officers, Col. Tashi Thapliyal and Lt. Col. Anubha Upreti. The exchange offered him a rare glimpse into the lived experiences, discipline and resilience of women serving on the frontlines.
Moved by the interaction, Sidharth expressed what it meant to stand beside women who serve the nation so selflessly embodying the true spirit of the Indian armed forces. Speaking to them, Sidharth Malhotra said, “As actors, we always portray the stories that we hear, and thanks to you, we get to play characters which are truly inspiring and heroic, Captain Vikram Batra is one such example that I was very fortunate enough to play. Today, to share the stage with you and be here with actual real life soldiers and heroes is an honor. Courage and valor has no gender and I feel India is finally fighting with its full capacity and capability having women leading from the front. We are really proud of our armed forces.”
It’s an experience he carries forward, a reminder that behind every uniform is a story of strength India continues to draw from.
