MUMBAI : Son of Sardaar 2, the much-awaited sequel starring Ajay Devgn, has already become embroiled in controversy before its release. Two big stories surrounding the film are presently filming in the UK, were the denial of Sanjay Dutt's visa and the removal of Vijay Raaz from the cast over allegations of misconduct.

The news that Sanjay Dutt had lost his visa to enter the UK dealt the first serious setback to Son of Sardaar 2, and he was a key part of the original film. The decision is a result of Dutt's previous legal issues, particularly his 1993 conviction under the Arms Act and the Terrorist and Disruptive Activities (Prevention) Act (TADA). The UK authorities eventually withdrew his visa, citing his criminal background, despite having first granted it.
In an interview with the popular news portal, Sanjay Dutt expressed his annoyance by saying, “They gave me the Visa (initially). Everything was ready. Then a month later, you are canceling my Visa! I gave you all the papers and everything. Why did you give me the Visa in the first place?”
With Dutt unable to join the shoot, Ravi Kishan has stepped in to replace him in the film. The sequel, directed by Vijay Kumar Arora, is expected to continue the storyline of the original, though with some notable changes, including the absence of Sonakshi Sinha.
The second controversy involves actor Vijay Raaz, who was reportedly removed from Son of Sardaar 2 due to unprofessional behavior. According to Kumar Mangat Pathak, the film’s co-producer, Raaz made several unreasonable demands during the shoot, including larger rooms, a premium vanity van, and exorbitant payments for his spot boy. Mangat revealed that the situation became untenable, leading to Raaz’s dismissal from the project.
“The role will now be played by Sanjay Mishra,” confirmed Pathak. He went on to say that Raaz's spot boy had engaged in a different, more serious incident in which he was drunk and had reportedly sexually assaulted a hotel staff member.
However, Vijay Raaz has refuted the accusations. He made it clear that the two instances had nothing to do with each other and separated himself from his spot boy's conduct. Raaz further suggested that, rather than a mistake, his dismissal was the result of his failure to greet Ajay Devgn on site.
Even while the controversies have undoubtedly overshadowed Son of Sardaar 2, the team is still working on the movie and has adjusted to keep it on schedule.
