Stree 2: Shah Rukh Khan applauds Abhishek Banerjee's impressive performance as Jana; 'I've been wanting to... '

MUMBAI: Shah Rukh Khan had some unique thoughts about it, especially about Abhishek Banerjee's performance After watching Stree 2. One of the biggest Bollywood hits of 2024, Stree 2, starring Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor, has amassed over Rs 700 crore net worldwide and is still going strong.

The 2018 blockbuster Stree's sequel, which was directed by Amar Kaushik, succeeded in winning over viewers' hearts with its distinct fusion of comedy and horror. The cast of the movie, which stars Rajkummar Rao, Shraddha Kapoor, Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee, and Aparshakti Khurana, has garnered critical acclaim and has helped make the film a huge hit, grossing over Rs 750 crore globally.

Shah Rukh Khan took a minute to praise Abhishek Banerjee's performance in the movie during the IIFA 2024 press conference in Mumbai, which was attended by Abhishek Banerjee, Karan Johar, Siddhant Chaturvedi, and Rana Daggubati. "Abhishek, it is so wonderful to see you live, after seeing your wonderful film (Stree 2). I have been wanting to call you," said SRK. Later, on stage, King Khan hugged Banerjee warmly.

In the first installment of Stree, Abhishek Banerjee portrays Jana, the sole character to become possessed by the spirit. Viewers love his portrayal of Jana, who is a naïve yet loyal buddy who is always forced into difficult situations.

He's become a fan favorite because of his character's purity of heart and loyal friendship. Alongside Varun Dhawan, Abhishek Banerjee starred in another horror-comedy, Bhediya, which was directed by Amar Kaushik.

He continued to solidify his status as a genre-bending performer with another outstanding performance in Stree 2.

Shah Rukh Khan will be hosting IIFA 2024 again alongside Karan Johar. He joked about his own hectic schedule and how he missed out on hosting in the past while sharing his excitement for the movie throughout the event. As people continue to pour into theatres to see the horror-comedy hit, his compliments for Stree 2 and Abhishek Banerjee only heighten the anticipation for the film.
