If Salman Khan’s ‘rape’ comment wasn’t enough, the film’s director Ali Abbas Zafar has sparked off a round of controversies, following his utterly sexist remarks in an interview to a film critic, a popular listicle site has added.
When the critic raised a valid question of Anushka Sharma’s character giving up her career for her baby with Salman’s character, the director remarked, “Whenever the issue of pregnancy comes in, the girl may be a working woman, but now she will have to give up her work because psychically she needs to do that.”
When prodded further, he added to the site, "That is the time when getting the so-called animal instinct into human being, the man will go and hunt and the woman will stay at home and we can't deny it."
He further justified the act with another cringe-worthy comment, "She had to choose whether she chooses something aspirational or emotional. She kills her aspiration for an emotional thing and according to me that is a very human thing."
What’s your take on this? Just to give you a heads up, Sultan has had a bumper BO opening in its first week itself.
The movie that stars Sallu and Anushka has wrestlers, traces the ups and lows of the two, where Anushka’s character eventually gives up on her dreams of bagging laurels for the country…in order to fulfil her emotional needs of being a mother.
The underdog making it big story has been lapped up my fans all over the globe.
